Learn something ever day. That's it, end of post, LOL (Do people still say this?). This is a necessary piece of my (and perhaps your) productivity journey. What this means is that anything I learn that could conceivably help my life, I capture it. I use a couple of tools:
Learning each day gives me energy. I literally feel my brain and the excitement, especially when it is something that is completely foreign to me. What gets you excited? Learning each day is the moment that I feel my mind and spirit in alignment. WINSTON A. WILSON JR. I had originally planned for this to be my second series about how I'm handling productivity and MS but It felt better to talk a bit on how Martin Luther King Jr, has impacted my life. I complained recently about getting a coffee mug that stays warm. i thought it was just another thing to plug in and clutter my desk. Anyone, that knows me knows that I like to keep my workspace as clean as possible. I did receive one ( thanks family )and it's been amazing and helps me keep going and focused. I also received a big bag on whole bean coffee that I grind a bit each day. I share this to let me and perhaps you know that gratitude comes in all forms and sizes. I would love if you find value in my productivity messages to sign up to our newsletters and private webinars. I know that this year will be wonderful. Let's all be grateful for the be small, medium, and big aspects of our life.
This year (2022) was great. Yes it was filled with family and friends that passed or feel sick, but...there is no but. The great part is the opportunities and lessons that we should heed is clear as a bell. Be there for each other. The "Be there" is up to our personal interpretation. The only thing that i've learned is to just be there. This is hard for me on many days. As a personal productivity person, some of my things to do are rote, perfunctory, and ego focused. I've had to be intentional and incorporate this into my day. Here is my truth. When something happens to someone close to me, my "tasks" become subordinate. If you get a call, email, or text from me, I care about you. Give me some grace as I learn more about really "Being There". I believe that this being part of my intentionality will help me get better. Be there. Really there. Each morning, I take several long breaths. The deep inward, hold for a four-six count, and deep exhalation. I find that this has a similar effect as when I consume a bunch of coffee. It also knocks the groggy feeling out quick. I like you have a ton to get done each day. What is one way to get you going in the A.M.?
Productivity tip of the day. What are the three things you are looking forward to doing today? Do them ⭐️, When I journal, I list the three things that when accomplished will move towards my goals. There are other habits, that pop up (like take meds), but this helps me concentrate in a world of many potential distractions. The below is from the book I'm reading now from Tiago Forte.
Taking a few moments each day to capture what is important has been an important component of my life. It takes me all of fifteen minutes top. Sometimes it is structured (I use a template in Evernote). Other times it's just me writing what I'm grateful for and what I'm looking to in the day. I find that it gets me going and more productive. What do you do each day to get you going?
"Quiana's Voice" will be amazing. I'm so excited about the planning for our first signature event. It breaks my heart to see people not use their God given ability to be creative. This will be a celebration of our spirit and we hope to give one deserving person some technology to get their journey going. Click here. These days getting back to where I've been spiritually, I needed to create something that energizes me and hopefully the world. Hip Hop changed my life and creating a story about it, is the medicine I needed. I'm confident that when you come to check out the reading of the first act, it will give you some as well. Hip Hop not helped to mold me, but the whole planet. "Lyrics" gives us hope about the greatest genre of art in the last four plus decades. Come check me and the amazing actors on August 20th. |
