FINDING YOUR VOICE

Life has a way of testing our limits. The world outside can feel like it’s spinning in peak chaos, while inside, personal struggles can leave us feeling overwhelmed and questioning everything. You might find yourself in a metaphorical (or literal) parking lot after a deep disappointment, wondering which way to turn. It’s in these very moments
of vulnerability that a critical question often surfaces: “What is it in life that gives me peace when things are at their most chaotic?”
For many, the answer isn’t a simple one. It’s a journey of rediscovery, of finding that one thing that can anchor us. For one of our own, the answer came through the rhythm and poetry of Hip-Hop, with artists like Red Alert, Mister Magic, and Dr. Dre providing a vital lifeline. But even deeper, a more profound answer emerged from the stillness of that chaotic moment: writing.
It was a conscious decision to lean into a God-given gift—the ability to tell stories. This act of creation, of putting pen to paper, became a powerful tool not just for expression, but for survival and renewal. This journey of turning chaos into art is the very heartbeat of the Sauti Community.
From a Spark of Creation to a Community of Support
That initial spark of writing, nurtured by supportive writing groups, blossomed into something much larger—a full-fledged theatrical production called "LYRICS." This production is a testament to the idea that engaging with our chaos through storytelling can lead to profound healing. The characters born from this process become companions on our journey, their stories intertwined with our own, reminding us of the resilience of the human spirit. This has such a meaningful impact on my life and journeuy.
Through this creative endeavor, a dormant joy was "renewed with vigor." This is the power of finding your sauti—your voice. It’s about tapping into your innate creativity, whether it be through writing, music, theatre, or any other art form, and allowing it to guide you through the darkest of times. It’s about the "unwavering love for the arts" that can fuel immense determination and resilience, even in the face of significant personal challenges like an MS diagnosis. This impacts me in ways which are imperceptible to most. My brain is constantly rewiring around lesions. This creates a powerful fatigue which means basic things require more brain power.
Strength Grows in the Moments You Think You Can’t Go On
This sentiment is a guiding principle for us. We understand that continuing forward, especially when caring for a loved one with dementia or navigating personal health battles, requires a deep well of patience and strength. The Sauti Community is a place to replenish that well. It’s a space to connect with others who understand these battles, who are also fighting to live and find their dimension.
We are a community founded on the belief that giving is life. Become a member today.
ing voice to creativity, especially "at times of stress and distress," is essential. We’ve seen the pain that comes from unrealized
creativity and believe that everyone deserves the chance to explore their artistic potential.
