I’m feeling a bit emotional right now. I recently shared that my 20-year-old Maxima (Maxine for short) is nearing the end of its life. Some of us might have reached a point where fixing something becomes more expensive than its value. And then, the thought of more expenses looms on the horizon. Maxine has traveled across the country, and I used to absolutely adore the music and space it brought. I know it’s just a mechanical thing, but for me, it evokes such beautiful memories. I believe that in order to receive something new into my life, I need to create space. Maxine, thank you for all the wonderful memories you’ve given me.
Guess what? My son recently got his own car (with his own hard-earned money)! Seeing the joy and pride on his face, it reminded me of the feeling of having freedom. Here where we live, having a reliable car is a must for getting around. It was like witnessing the birth of a new opportunity. He can now traverse longer distances, hence more and new worlds.
The lesson I’ve learned is that the things I own are just tools to unlock possibilities. For me, possibilities mean having choices and creating new experiences. I’m excited about the relationships and spiritual vehicles that come with this journey. #prouddad #journey.
