15 YEARS. GROWING AND GOING STONG!

I am absolutely buzzing to announce that I will be continuing my service as Board Chair of the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival for 2026!

Looking back on my five years with this board—three of them as Chair—I’m filled with so much gratitude. We’ve navigated some wild waters together, steering this ship through a global pandemic and a shifting landscape for the arts. But you know what? We didn’t just survive; we adapted. We evolved.

This organization, founded by the visionary Toni Simmons Henson, is so much more than an event. It is a home. It’s the "Mecca of Black Theatre." It is a safe space where our playwrights, actors, and creatives can tell our stories in ourauthentic voices.

I’m talking about real impact: ✨ Mentoring the next generation of HBCU talent. ✨ Giving independent artists the business tools they need to thrive. ✨ Creating a sanctuary where Black joy and history take center stage.

The world of theatre is changing, but my optimism for 2026 is through the roof. We are resilient, we're vibrant, and we're ready to take this festival to new heights.

Thank you to my fellow board members, our supporters, and every artist who trusts us with their work. Let’s make 2026 our best year yet!
